By Lucky Isibor
The Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, the Rt. Hon. Kabiru Adjoto has assured that the All Progressives Congress (APC), will promote internal democracy and enforce discipline that will make the party relevant and the darling of politicians who want to actualize their political aspirations.
The Speaker gave this indication while addressing an enlarged meeting of APC members at its secretariat, Igarra, Akoko Edo Local Government Area weekend, assuring that the party will always be guided by its constitution and the rule of law, to avoid the pitfalls of the past.
While pointing out that the party has the instrument to sanction erring political office holder who work contrary to the policy trust of the present administration, the speaker warned political office holders of Akoko-Edo extraction to live up to expectation and meet the yearnings of the people.
Hon. Adjoto commended the state governor for his key interest to transform the socio-economic land scape of Akoko-Edo as well as the appointment of indigenes into political positions, which is the first in a very long time since the creation of the council area, many years ago.
Hon. Adjoto who implored the people to come out en-mass and accord the governor a rousing reception as he visits Akoko-Edo on the 3rd of November in continuation of the governor’s tour of council areas also pledged the unflinching support and unalloyed loyalty of Akoko-Edo people to the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Member representing Akoko-Edo constituency two at the House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Agbaje, lambasted those who engaged in campaign of calumny and pull him down syndrome to curry favour in the sight of desperate and over ambitious politicians to the detriment of others.

This ugly trend according to Hon. Agbaje, if not addressed will create bad blood among politicians and denigrate their office which will not augur well at this point of the nation’s history.
The Edo North North senatorial leader of the party Chief Joseph Arogundade said the meeting was convened in strict adherence to the directive from the national body, to cross fertilize ideas on how to consolidate on the gains achieved so far by the party.
A press statement endorsed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the speaker, Jacob Afeinkhena indicates that the party members took a resolve to promote unity and oneness.
