Prince Egbune listed various projects being embarked upon by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Onicha Olona and Aniocha North to include roads, bore hole project, school renovation and construction among others.
The Commissioner, Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Mr Emmanuel Chinye said the defection of notable APC members in Onicha Olona Ward 4 showed that the APC was dead even before the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
He said the achievements of Governor Okowa within the last three years showed that the PDP had no match as every part of the state have been touched with meaningful projects stressing that the PDP administration in the state was focused in delivering the dividends of democracy.
Mr Chinye noted that Governor Okowa had completed the construction of the Onicha Olona road from Issele-Uku which will continue to other neighbouring communities adding that the decampees will not be discriminated against but would be carried along in the scheme of things.
The PDP Onicha Olona Ward 4, Mr Emmanuel Ukwamedua, the Councilor representing Onicha Olona Ward 4 in the Aniocha North Legislature Arm, Honourable Alexander Okolie and a PDP Stalwart, Mr Ngulu Modungwo described the defection of APC members to the PDP as a welcome development adding that the PDP had enough space to accommodate people as it was a party that does not discriminate.

Some of the APC decampees including the Secretary Ward four, Mr Uche Ofili Godwin, Engineer Anslem Mekwunnye and Mr Mokwunye Onochie Emmanuel said their sojourn in the APC was a big political mistake as no “Change” had taken place which the party promised Nigerians.
They said they have realized that there was no use building a house and abandoning it to join the APC which had no structure and nothing to offer.
According to them defecting to the PDP was the best thing that had happened in the politics of Onicha Olona stressing that Governor Okowa had impressed them with his performance moreso with the appointment of Mr Emmanuel Chinye as Commissioner which they described as a very good gesture of the Governor.
They called on all to join hands with the PDP and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in building a state where all Deltans would be proud of stressing that he has done well as an Anioma Governor
The highlight of the event was the presentation of PDP membership cards to the decampees and symbolic burning of brooms which is the logo of the APC.
