Uviejitobor Scores Okowa, Self, High, Says Their Second Tenure Will Witness More Practical Development


The Member Representing Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor has expressed satisfaction over visible practical development in Udu local government area in the past three and half years of the Okowa’s administration.

Speaking with newsmen during the mega rally organized by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Udu council area to welcome defectors from All Progressive Congress, APC to PDP, Uviejitobor said the Constituency never had it so good and commended governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his visionary leadership.

The Lawmaker said “Udu Constituency has recorded significant development in the past three and half years. I Thank God it’s during my time as the representative of the people in the Delta State House of Assembly that all these good things are happening. Udu people are happy with our amiable governor, His Excellence, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa. They are also appreciative of my efforts to attracting greater development to the local government area”.

“The mammoth crowd you are seeing today is a practical way by my people to express their appreciation to the PDP led state government in its efforts towards uplifting quality of lives and standard of infrastructure in the area. They are also reassuring the Governor that Udu local government area is for PDP. You can see that APC members in their numbers are defecting to PDP. They are joining forces to deliver PDP candidates one hundred percent in the forthcoming general elections. There is no place for opposition in Udu council area”. Uviejitobor stressed.

The Lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committee on Lands, Survey and Urban Development, stated that the rehabilitation of Ovwian main road, Ekete Inland road, New York, Orhuwhorun roads as well as construction and rehabilitation of several blocks of classrooms across communities in Udu local government area were landmarks in the history of democratic governance in the state.

Hon Uviejitobor also highlighted the positive impacts his empowerment program and those of the state government including YAGEP and STEP programs have made in the lives of beneficiaries, maintaining that his second tenure in office and that of Governor Okowa will promote greater peace and development in Udu local government area.

The Udu State Constituency Legislator who also disclosed that he had so far co-sponsored over nine bills in the house, said “by His grace, we all will be witnesses of more development in all the critical sectors of the economy during the second tenure of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as governor and Hon (Chief) Peter Okagbare Uviejitubor as Member Representing Udu in the Delta State House of Assembly.

Hon Uviejitobor charged the people of Udu to remain firm in their collective resolve to vote for PDP candidates in the forthcoming general election, stressing that they made the right choice to remain and work for victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP candidates for Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.

He commended the step taken by a former Commissioner in the state, Chief Andrew Orugbo, others and their supporters to return to PDP and enjoined few persons remaining to follow suit as PDP umbrella is big enough to accommodate all.

Hon Uviejitobor promised to continue to collaborate with critical stakeholders in Udu Constituency and the state at large towards moving the area forward and urged all to be at peace with one another at all times.
