United Nations NGO, Arise O Nigeria Sets To Empower Deltans
…Lines Up 20 Nigerians for Humanitarian Ambassador Award.

A United Nations (UN) Non Governmental Organization, Arise O Nigeria has announced rolled out plans to empower over 500 Deltans targeting the unemployed youths and widows in the Niger Delta State of the Country.
The NGO disclosed this through its President, Ambassador Jonathan Emmamuzo Daniel, during a press conference at the Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Asaba stating that the empowerment programme is part of the NGO’s plans to celebrate its Second Anniversary in Nigeria which comes up from the 17th-20th October, 2017 across Delta State with the grand finale holding at Nelrose Hotel, Asaba, which will feature conferment of awards on prominent Nigerians.
Ambassador Jonathan said, “It is with great pleasure that we have chosen Delta State amongst the South South States for the United Nations Arise O Nigeria leadership symposium and Humanitarian Ambassador Awards. This year we deem it fit to continue with the responsibilities that is saddled with us; which is empowering women and youths towards achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Nigeria. Delta State will be experiencing massive empowerment of youths through ICT training. ”
He further added that the three days programme will kick off on October 17, which is the United Nations World Poverty Eradication Day to drive the project. “So it is a three day project and we will be capping it up with honouring dignitaries across Nigeria and that is why we tagged it “The PAN Nigerian Humanitarian Ambassador Award because we cannot underestimate the essence of honouring people who have been contributing towards humanity in Nigeria and about 20 Humanitarians will be awarded during the programme in the likes of His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar – Former Vice President of Nigeria, Dr. Paul Orhii – Former DG, NAFDAC, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke – Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi Ossai – Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly and many more ”
“Arise O Nigeria will be bringing alot of development to youths in the terms of training and developing youths in digital marketing training. We are looking at empowering about 500 – 1000 Deltans; the unemployed youths, civil servants and even government officials in ICT Skills’. Jonathan added.
While welcoming the Arise O Nigeria Team to the State, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Dan Okenyi informed the Press that Arise O Nigeria, a UN recognized NGO, has been empowered to carry out humanitarian activities and that the stipulated event by the organization is expected to feature seminars for youths, empowerment for windows beauty pageants and visitation to tourist sites in Delta State. “It will be capped up with an award night for many prominent Nigerians including our own Smart Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa”, the commissioner emphasized.
