Ukwuani Council Boss Tasks Civil Servants on Punctuality, Calls for Diligence and Optimal Productivity

The Executive Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government Council, Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe have called on civil servants to embrace punctuality to work, diligence to duties, productivity and decent dressing.
Ogbuefi Chukwudi made this call in a launch time meeting with the staff in the Council’s Staff Canteen, he thanked the management, the leadership of the NULGE and staff for their abilities in managing the resources of the local government over the years.
According to him, being a great achiever is not determined by wealth but the ability to manage available resources at all times.
He advised the staff to always come to work on time daily and stay on their duty post even as he stressed the need for diligence to work; he also stated that as government employees, individual and collective monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly and annual productivity targets must be pursued and achieved.
The Odogwu of Ukwuani Land also reiterated his determination to always pay workers salaries; he promised that as the council’s finance improves, the provision of transformer to generate light in the council secretariat as well as provision of adequate and functional modern conveniences in the council will be looked into.
The Council boss also promised the staff that his government is all-inclusive and that the door is wide opened to everybody, “Call me. Text me. Visit me at will. My door is opened to all.” he added.
Ogbuefi Chukwudi also enjoined the workers to be watchmen of the Council and not watchdogs as such dispositions will enhance the council’s growth.
Responding, the Head of Personnel Management (HPM), Dr Frank Atube lauded the chairman for unveiling his people’s oriented programmes and noble intentions to serve the Ukwuani people. He also appreciated the staff for what he described as allowing their faith in the capabilities of the management to dominate their complaints.
He however appealed to them to always document and channel whatever complaints they have to the appropriate quarters when necessary instead of grumbling.
Also, the NULGE Chairman, Comr. Dan Ojo commended Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe whom he described as labour-friendly for deeming it fit to meet with the staff even as he assured him of the co-operation of the workers adding that the Union, Executive, Legislature and management will work in synergy to achieve the common goals of the council.
