Ukwuani 2019: Ojo Presents Scorecard To Constituents, Seeks Reelection To Consolidate On Achievements

The Member Representing Ukwuani Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Alphosus Ojo has presented his score card to his constituents with a promise to attract more dividends of democracy to the area when given another opportunity to serve.

Speaking, when he led his supporters to the leadership of PDP and other stakeholders at the party Secretariat in Obiaruku, headquarters of Ukwuani local government council, Hon. Ojo announced his intention to run for the 2019 State House of Assembly election under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, stressing that he is seeking reelection to consolidate on achievements recorded as a member of the house.

The Lawmaker who is the Chairman, House Committee on Health disclosed that over the years as the representative of the people he had attracted about eighty five projects that cut across all sectors of the economy to Ukwuani local government area and was determined to do more in collaboration with other stakeholders.

Hon. Ojo noted that the voice of the people of Ukwuani was very pronounced on the floor of the state legislature as he had sponsored bills and motions as well as contributed qualitatively to debates where the interest of the constituents were canvassed.

He also disclosed that he had embarked on a good number of empowerment programs to uplift the socio-economic standards of the people, saying that he has facilitated the employment of about one hundred and ten constituents as providing a sustainable means of livelihood were his hallmark.

The Lawmaker listed other areas worthy of mention to include scholarship and other Students Assistance Scheme, including bursary awards, provision of starter packs to some artisans, educational materials, including school desks and chairs and free medical outreach among others.

Hon. Ojo while canvassing for understanding and cooperation of the people of Ukwuani over his aspiration for another tenure in office, recalled the past supports that brought him thus far, assuring all that he would always respect the confidence reposed on him by the people.

The lawmaker also called for unflinching support on the second term bid of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, describing the Okowa’s reelection as governor and his to Delta State House of Assembly as divine and should be widely supported.

The Director-General, Hon. Ojo Campaign Organization, Chief Ashibudike Otutu, acknowledged the immense contribution of Hon. Alphosus Ojo to the development of Ukwuani constituency and urged the people to take his reelection into the state house of Assembly as a challenge for peace and greater growth of the local government area.

Others who spoke said Hon Ojo had provided the people quality representation, maintaining that he deserves another tenure to consolidate the success stories.

The PDP Chairman, Ukwuani local government area, Engr. Patrick Kaine, while welcoming the lawmaker and his teaming supporters to the party secretariat urged him to go about his campaign peacefully, assuring all contestants to the various elective positions in the council area of a level playing field.

He reminded all that PDP is one big family, stressing the need for aspirants to shun blackmails in their campaign.

The high point of the ceremony was the handing over of a thirty five paged booklet containing the scorecard of Hon. Alphosus Ojo as a member of the state House of Assembly to the PDP Chairman, Ukwuani local government area, Engr. Patrick Kaine.
