Tuomo PM Urges Okowa to Vie for Nigeria’s President, Endorse Oborevwori’s Governorship Bid
The Traditional Prime Minister of Tuomo Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, Chief Micheal Loyibo, has said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has all it takes to fix the problems of the country.
Speaking when a group of Young Leaders from Isoko North, paid him a consultation visit, Loyibo urged Nigerians to beg him to take over as President in the 2023.
He said: “You will agree with me that the governor has done very well and he has been very fair to all Deltans. He is a gift to Delta State and Nigeria. Not only will he finish strong, but also move higher. If there is anybody that can fix Nigeria, that person is Okowa. If Okowa can govern a complex state like Delta, it is only fair for Southern Nigeria to produce the next President and beg Okowa to be President because he has done very well.
“Having said that, the only way that the programmes and development of Delta State under Okowa can be sustained, is to bring in another Okowa, a friendly man.
“Some days ago, Delta South leaders took a decision. l was the convener of that meeting where the whole of Delta South leaders came together to say ‘Okowa, give us Sheriff Oborevwori’. l am part of that decision for Oborevwori to wear the shoes of Okowa in 2023 to continue from where he will stop.
“You can only bring a man who understands the language of the people and we believe in the capacity of Sheriff Oborevwori and that is why we have chosen him. Thank God that PDP has promised to conduct a free, fair and credible primaries. We are sure that Oborevwori will win with at least 70 percent of the votes.”
Loyibo also used the occasion to urge the people of Delta South to support the senatorial ambition of Chief Michael Diden, describing him as a selfless, generous and accessible personality.
He said; “God has been using him and is still using him. With my understanding of law making, we have seen that Diden can bring the good that we have been expecting in Delta South.”
On the House of Representatives seat for the Isoko Federal constituency, he said: “I want to identify with Bashorun Askia Ogieh. I appeal to you to see how you can support Askia to go to the House of Representatives.”
Leader of the Young Leaders from Isoko North, Chief Frank Ozue said they had resolved to unite behind Okowa to finish strong.
He said: “We have made a request to ask Okowa to give us Sheriff Oborevwori. We have resolved to stand behind our leaders in the various local government areas and make sure we deliver every candidate that we have in a free and fair election.
“Okowa has done very well and we know that Sheriff Oborevwori will fit into his shoes.”
