Transparency Is Not Competency: Moulding Opinion For 2019

The hopes of many Nigerians prior to the 2015 general election was that the APC flag bearer turn president today is a transparent, visionary, pragmatic and astute leader.

This was the opinion that was formed by majority of the populace in relation to some of the personality traits of General Muhammadu Buhari (retd). But barley three years and six months of his administration, Nigerians are getting convinced that such high rated profile for the incumbent president never worth it.

Yes, it is now like the Biblical “MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN” Dan. 5:25, clearly stating the obvious that the failures of Buhari and APC led federal government today is as a result of the fact that the electorates who voted him into power undermined the fact that “being transparent does not mean you are competent”. We all got it wrong from this stand point.

The current APC led federal government is filled with propaganda starting from the onset. The minister of information Lai Mohammed is an expert in championing the course of propaganda for anyone who needs his service. Do not praise him for this because that is his professional strength as a public relations officer and legal practitioner but he should always remember the ethics of these two profession as posterity will always judge.

The recent killings in the country should send a strong message and lessons to the electorate that NIGERIA is not safe in the hands of these political gerontocrats who keep romancing the corridors of power without returning the dividends of democracy to the citizens. The campaign promises of CHANGE turn out to transform the entire sector of the country from her dying state into a decaying situation. Nothing is working In the country right now. Buhari promised security, to fight corruption, reduce unemployment, increase power supply just to mention a few, are all failed promises due to his inadequacies, ethno-religious sentiment, myopic view on leadership, indecisiveness all boiling down to his incompetent abilities.

The recent APC national convention gulped over 7 billion Naira, which was not aimed at increasing security or savaging the nations economy. It was a huge money thrown to the wind while death rate keep increasing in the country. This is a government fighting corruption.

Just yesterday, along Lagos Ibadan express way there was a road inferno which took the lives of over fifty-four well meaning Nigerians and the minister of information still came out on air to “LIE” by reducing the results as usual. This is a government under the watch of the self acclaimed transparent BUHARI……no sector can currently boast of efficiency. From security, education, economy, religion, culture even sports are all dead on arrival in this APC led federal government.

This master piece is a wake up call for “WE” the electorates to start preparing our minds as the drum for 2019 general election begin to beat gradually. Let us be actively involve in the politics of our beloved country NIGERIA either by voting wisely, following political trends by reading newspapers and listening to news, criticize wrong government policies, enlighten people around you on the way to go and pray hard for God to give Nigeria a vibrant LEADER who will revamp the country from her decaying state. The reason for this is that if we allow 2015 error to repeat itself by re-electing these old political class in the different offices, Nigeria will degenerate into a state of anarchy.

Vote wisely for transparency is not competency.
