Isoko North: Owhefere Splashes Empowerment Packages Worth Over 50 Million Naira on Constituents


The Member Representing Isoko North Constituency and Majority Leader, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Tim Owhefere, Thursday, September 6, 2018 dolled out several empowerment packages valued over 50 million naira to his constituents as part of effort towards making his people economically viable and self reliance.

The presentation of the items which include, 4 Mini Buses, 2 Cars, 13 Tricycles, 26 Motorcycles, 26 Sewing Machines, 20 Generators, 26 Hair driers, 26 Grinding Machines, 50 Wrappers for women and Cash to set up small scale businesses, was flagged off by the State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who commended the Lawmaker for the launch of yet another round of empowerment program to the benefit of his people.

Hon. Owhefere at the ceremony said, the event was another milestone in his efforts to raise confidence and quality of lives of the constituents and expressed appreciation to the people for their unflinching support and commitment to good governance in the area.

“We are gathered again in honor of my people. I have been doing this even before I ventured into politics. In my past empowerment programs, several families were established and uplifted economically. Today’s program marked another step in the direction of enhancing the living standards in Isoko North. I charged all the new set of beneficiaries of the program to make judicious use of the items to grow their economic fortunes and values”, Owhefere stated.

The eloquent Lawmaker who is also the Chairman House Committee on Information, told the constituents that his intention to seek reelection into the Delta State House of Assembly was born out of the desire to contribute more to the development of the constituency, stressing that experience counts in lawmaking and politics generally.

Owhefere appealed for the support of his people, reassuring that he can never disappoint them, even as he urged all to shun rumor mongering, blackmails, pull him down syndrome and bitterness against one another, stressing that opposition parties have no place to operate in Isoko land.

The Majority Leader called for continuous support for Okowa’s led government, stressing that the administration has made lots of positive impacts on the lives of Deltans.

Governor Okowa, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Ovie Agas, extolled the intelligence and pragmatism in Hon. Tim Owhefere, saying that as the Majority Leader of the house his interface between the executive and the legislature, contributed in no small measure to the good working relationship existing between the two arms of government.

The Governor restated the need for political office holders to empower their people, maintaining that by so doing the level of poverty will be drastically reduced in the society and commended Hon. Tim Owhefere for embarking on the empowerment program.

Dr. Okowa who described the exercise as worthy of emulation, charged the Lawmaker to sustain the program and the beneficiaries to establish themselves with the items presented and use the proceeds to help others grow economically.

The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the State Deputy Chairman, PDP, Val Areyinka, the Chairman, Isoko North Local Government, Mr Emmanuel Egbabor, the Chairman, PDP Isoko North and others who spoke restated the strong hold of PDP in Delta State and urged the people to keep faith with the party.

They commended Tim Owhefere for the empowerment program and congratulated the beneficiaries.

The ceremony was attended by cross session of the society, including top government functionaries and members of the state legislature.
