Talent Agency Drops Kanye West Over Racist, Antisemitic Rants
Kanye West’s recent Twitter rants, which included racist, antisemitic, and homophobic remarks, have led to severe consequences.
His talent agency, 33&West, announced on February 10, 2025, that they would no longer represent the rapper.
Daniel McCartney, a talent agent at 33&West, took to Instagram to state, “due to his harmful and hateful remarks that neither myself nor 33&West can stand for.”
This move follows the resignation of West’s chief of staff, Eric Cui, who quit over the weekend. Cui’s decision came after West defended Sean “Diddy” Combs for physically abusing his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
“I loved working at YZY because I believed in your dream,” Cui wrote in a statement posted to Instagram. “I believe in free speech ..so I will use my free speech to say that violence and crimes against women and children is wrong.”
West’s Twitter rants on February 7, 2025, sparked widespread outrage. He posted over 20 tweets in under ten minutes, making derogatory statements about various groups, including black, gay, and Jewish people.
The final straw came when West purchased airtime during the Super Bowl to promote his Yeezy website, where he was selling a $20 T-shirt featuring a swastika. As a result, his website was shut down on Shopify.
