Bayoko tasks Delta Civil Servants on Total Support for Oborevwori’s Administration
By Aruoriwo Ivovi
Delta State Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Reginald Bayoko, has enjoined civil servants in the state to fully support the Oborevwori Administration.
Mr. Bayoko stated this while separately addressing the chairmen and executive members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Asaba Branch and the Nigerian Optometric Association, Delta State Chapter, who were in his office on courtesy visits.
The Delta HoS reminded civil servants of a new administration in the state and charged them to be of exemplary conduct by portraying the service in good light and doing what was expected of them always.
While sounding a note of warning against acts of misconduct, Mr. Bayoko enjoined civil servants to discharge their duties conscientiously and with commitment, just as he harped on punctuality and obedience to rules and regulations guiding the service.
Mr. Bayoko said he would continue to be responsive to the welfare of civil servants in the state, stressing the need for strict adherence to ethics of the service and the code of conducts of the respective professional bodies.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Asaba Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Mrs. Felicia Avwenaghagha, while appreciating the HoS on behalf of other members of the body, said that they noted with satisfaction the notable role he played in the actualisation of the enhanced entry level for engineers into the state civil service from level 08 to salary grade level 09.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Nigerian Optometric Association, Delta State Chapter, Dr. Odiase Chukwudi, said they were pleased to inform the HoS that the Delta State Hospitals Management Board (HMB) had complied with his directive to restore Call Duty Allowance for their members.
Dr. Odiase, who later presented an Objective Personality Award to Mr. Bayoko, disclosed that the restoration of the allowance was possible due to the unbiased stance of Bayoko on the issue.
