Super Eagles Rise to 43rd in Latest FIFA Rankings
The Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, has moved up one spot to 43rd place in the latest FIFA rankings, announced on Thursday. This improvement comes on the back of their impressive form, including a recent win against Rwanda in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
Argentina retained its top spot, thanks to a series of impressive victories. Spain and France occupy the second and third positions, respectively, while England and Brazil round out the top five.
The Super Eagles’ upward movement in the rankings may be attributed to their recent performances, which have seen them beat Rwanda at home in their quest to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
This development is a welcome boost for Nigerian football, as the team continues to work towards securing a spot in the prestigious international tournament.
