STG implores Nigerians to Promote Ethnic Unity and Peaceful Co-existence
The Director General of Soft Touch Global (STG), High Chief Assay Anthony Omamuzo has called on Nigerians to promote ethnic unity and peaceful co-existence, while advising the current administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari to use stringent measures in tackling corruption and to build on the remarkable legacy.
Speaking in Warri, Delta State on Tuesday June 27, 2017, Chief Omamuzo said Soft Touch Global (STG) is a Non-Governmental Organisation established to educate and sensitize Nigerians on the need for peaceful co-existence in order to protect the integrity of Nigeria.
It was revealed on the 1st day of July 2017, Soft Touch Global will be organising a One-day workshop to include lectures, unveiling of STG Peace & National Unity Magazine, STG Co-operative Society, Android Apps, Safety/Peace & Unity tips with Telecom Companies.
“As Nigerians it behooves us to pursue activities that will promote peaceful co-existence and avoid the on-going drum beat of destruction and chanting of war song which has created religious and ethnic tension in various part of the nation,” he advised.
He said that the current administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari should ensure all ethnic nationalities in the country continue to enjoy the sustainable peace and unity, saying enough is enough to disunity among us, adding that where there is no peace, no development.
According to him, STG is a peace building organization to create peace because the country right now is in the verge of collapsing. Together, Nigerians will be stronger collectively and the national interest is more paramount than any sectional or parochial interest.
The Director General further appealed to politicians, religious leaders and traditional institutions to stop their continued agitation for a break. What we stand to lose at the advanced stage of conflict is more devastating than whatever gains we anticipate. All hands must be on deck to keep Nigeria as one entity.
While emphasizing that “Whatever we have not been able to achieve as a nation, we cannot achieve it in division.” There is more need now for our collaboration than ever before. It was Unity that brought us together and it require the same unity to keep us together as one family.
In his words, Nigerians need to be peaceful and united in order to sustain the existing unity in the country for the interest of growth and development of the nation, saying that “there is beauty in unity.”
