Sit-at-home: Gunmen Kill Three Victims in Anambra


Gunmen has reportedly killed three individuals for disobeying a sit-at-home order in Ihiala town, Anambra State.

According to VANGUARD report, the victims include a well-known businessman, Oluebube, and two security operatives attached to the Ihiala Local Government Council.

Oluebube was shot dead at his rental company site while supervising workers preparing for a ceremony. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the gunmen storming the venue, opening fire, and causing panic as people fled.

In a separate incident near the Ihiala Local Government Secretariat, the two security operatives were killed in cold blood. Council Chairman Charles Orjiako expressed profound sorrow over the attack, stating:

“We are deeply saddened to announce the gruesome murder of two security personnel and the injury of another in a dastardly attack that occurred today, December 30th, in front of the Local Government Secretariat, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.”

Orjiako condemned the act, calling on the perpetrators to surrender themselves to the authorities. He assured the public that the council remains committed to maintaining security in the area, despite the setback.

“We will not be deterred by this act of violence. Instead, we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of our people and bring the perpetrators to justice,” Orjiako said.

The chairman expressed solidarity with the families of the fallen security personnel, promising full support during this difficult period. He urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and report any suspicious activity to security agencies as efforts to apprehend the assailants continue.
