Sheriff Wins Delta Governorship Election
The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has emerged winner of Saturday’s governorship election held in the state.
According to INEC’s official results, Sheriff Oborevwori who is the candidate of the PDP, polled a total of 360,234 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the APC who scored 240,229 votes.
According to the results, the state resident electoral commissioner, Tom Monday announced that, of the total of 3,221,697 registered voters in the state, 710,829 were accredited for the polls.
Adding that the total votes were 687,121, valid votes recorded was 671,737 while 15,384 votes were rejected.
Meanwhile, the candidate of the Labour Party, Ken Pela polled a total of 48,047 votes to clinched the third position.
Great Ogboru of APGA emerged fourth while Kenneth Gbagi trailed at fifth position.
