Sapele NUJ Presents Certificate To Austine Ayemidejor As Chapel’s Patron

The Special Project Director, Asaba International Airport Austine Ayemidejor on Friday September 11, 2020 received members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Sapele Correspondence Chapel at his country home in Sapele.
Comrade Godwin Oghre Chairman of the Union while addressing Mr Austine Ayemidejor said that, the purpose of their visit was to present the certificate of Patron of Sapele’s NUJ Correspondence Chapel, while noting that the Special Project Director has always been a pillar of support to members of the Union.
Mr Ayemidejor on his part thanked members of the Union for the honour bestowed on him, saying; “the press, that is, members of the fourth estate of the realm have always been associated with me and we have always worked together. They have been my friends for thirty consecutive years and I have never had issues with them. People who disseminate information on human activities- both official and informal are people we should respect.
“Journalism is a platform to achieve one’s goal in life; it is a medium for development, we have had people who are journalists becoming governors, senators, ministers, commissioners so on and so forth.
“Journalism is a distinguished and honourable profession. It is a well respected profession and I respect everyone who is a journalist. Members of the fourth estate of the realm will always be my friend.
“I want to say that I accept the responsibility that you have given to me, I will endeavour to be available to interact with members of the Union at every given time. My doors are wide open”, he stated.
Those who were present at the ceremony include; Comrade Nelson Agbajor, Secretary, Veteran journalist, Queen Stephanie Ikanone Odiete, Assistant Secretary, Comrade Paul Olayemi, and Comrade Austin Kwebei. Others are Comrade Uyono Esada, Comrade Henry Akporero,and Comrade Russia Omene.
