Rashford, Henderson Return as Tuchel Unveils England Squad
New England coach Thomas Tuchel has named his first squad, recalling Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and handing a surprise return to Jordan Henderson.
Rashford, who last played for the Three Lions a year ago, has been revitalized since his January loan move to Aston Villa from Manchester United. The 26-year-old forward will be eager to make an impact in Tuchel’s new-look England side.
Henderson, 34, has not played for England since November 2023, following moves to Saudi Arabia and then Ajax. The experienced midfielder will bring valuable leadership to the team as they begin their World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign.
Tuchel’s squad also includes debut call-ups for Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly and Newcastle defender Dan Burn. The team faces Albania for a match of World Cup 2026 qualifying on Friday and Latvia on March 24 at Wembley.
As Tuchel prepares for his first matches in charge, he will be hoping to make a strong start to England’s World Cup qualifying campaign. With a mix of experienced players and new faces, the team will be looking to build momentum under their new manager.
