Presidential Election: Peter Obi’s Labour Party Defeats Okowa, Tinubu in Delta
The presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi has been declared winner of Saturday’s presidential election in Delta state.
The Presidential Election Collation Officer (SCOPE) for Delta State, Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill of the University of Port-Harcourt on Tuesday, 28 February, 2023, at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Delta State Headquarters, Asaba announced the candidate of LP as the winner.
According to the result, Peter Obi secured a total of 341,866 votes to defeat the candidates of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar who scored 161,600 votes and APC, Bola Tinubu who had 90,183 votes respectively.
The governor of Delta state who is also the Vice Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa is yet to respond to the defeat of his party in his home state as at the time of this report.
