Portable Ditches Speed Darlington’s Fight Proposal, Challenges Anthony Joshua for N100m
Nigerian street-hop sensation Portable has announced that he will no longer be fighting fellow artiste Speed Darlington in a celebrity boxing match. Instead, he has called out former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, stating that he wants to fight him for N100 million.
The controversial singer made the announcement in a video posted to his Instagram page, where he dismissed Speed Darlington as an unworthy opponent.
“I’m not fighting Speed Darlington again; I want Anthony Joshua with 100m,” Portable declared in a viral video.
Portable also boasted about his superior status in the music scene, stating that he is bigger and more influential than Speed Darlington. He noted that Speed Darlington was recently released from Kuje Prison after being detained for allegedly defaming Afrobeat star Burna Boy.
The decision to pull out of the fight with Speed Darlington has cast uncertainty over the bout, which was scheduled to take place on April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Center in Lagos State.
Speed Darlington had been training in preparation for the match, even posting a mocking video online where he was seen buying a coffin before heading to the gym with his trainer.
