Portable Dismisses Comparison to Asake’s Face Tattoo, Says He’s the Lil Wayne of Nigeria
Nigerian street pop star, Portable has reacted to comparisons between his face tattoo and that of fellow singer Asake.
Portable in a video posted on his social media account, Portable demanded that fans stop making the comparison.
“No dey use me compare Asake,” he said in pidgin English. Portable emphasized that he doesn’t resemble Asake, but rather American hip-hop star Lil Wayne, known for his facial tattoos.
According to Portable, he wishes to make it clear that he doesn’t look like Kodak Black, another artist with face tattoos, but instead bears a resemblance to Lil Wayne, an international superstar.
Portable accused Asake of trying to emulate him by copying his facial art. He also boasted about his success, mentioning his recent collaboration with Skepta and his deal with Sony Music.
The singer warned other artists to stop mirroring his style, stating that he’s an innovative star who is overburdened by his success.
