The deplorable condition of Onitsha-Awka road is alarming and travellers have been subjected to crude driving processes. This bad portion of the road which links Onitsha to several communities in Anambra state and to the capital, Awka is really yearning for Federal Government Attention.

As we approach the dry season of the year, we wish to use this opportunity as a media platform to reach out to the contractors and other government agencies involved in road repairs and construction to come to the rescue of travellers who ply this route on a business and daily basis.

This will be of immense benefit to all Easterners travelling home for the Christmas and New Year celebration. The untold hardship on this road at this present moment should not be allowed to escalate to the festive period.

Also the use of the alternative route with a wooden bridge should be discouraged as touts and other jobless youths have taken over of the location.
