Pastor Cione Regrets The Effect Of Sin To Mankind, As Emeka Nwaka Celebrates Late Father In Maryland, USA.
The family of Emeka and Dare Nwaka on Friday, 28 June, 2019, held a service of songs in honor of their late father and grandfather, Pa Gregory Nkeonyemesi Nwaka of Ndobu Village, Igbodo in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria, amid great testimonies of a life well lived.
The ceremony which was held at the Trinity Assembly of God, 7800 Goodluck road, Lanham, Maryland, USA, was officiated by a team of Ministers of God led by the Resident Pastor of the Church, Pastor Tino Cione.
The event snowballed into a night packed full of fun as close relatives, professional colleagues, friends and well wishers of Emeka and Dare from far and near joined the Nwaka family in kick-starting the series of activities lined up to celebrate the life and times of the man popularly known as 6060 who died at the age of 91.
Several sons and daughters of Igbodo community where the nonagenarian lived and rose to become the oldest in the Idumu-edo extended family, were well represented at the event, with the Director of Publicity, Igbodo Development Union, IDU Worldwide, Comrade Nkem Nwaeke and the President, Atlanta Georgia branch of the Union, Dr Azuka Ubani leading the pack.
The two bible readings at the service which was characterized by solemn and souls searching praise and worship hymns, were read by the grand daughters of late Pa Gregory Nwaka, Miss Isioma and Buchi Nwaka.
In a brief exaltation, Pastor Tino Cione reminded the living that heaven is real and urged all to embrace Christ Jesus as He is the only channel to the life of eternity after death as nobody will live on earth forever.
Pastor Cione explained that sin was separating mankind from God, stressing that many loose heaven as a result of refusal to repent of their sins, pointing out that everything counts in the kingdom of God.
He prayed that God grant the late Pa Gregory Nkeonyemesi Nwaka rest in His bosom, even as he challenged the children and all he left to mourn him, to keep the good legacies of their late father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Pastor Cione who was later joined by other Ministers of God prayed for the family of Emeka and Dare Nwaka, asking God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and the wherewithal to celebrate the loving memories of the late nonagenarian.
Mr Emeka Nwaka who is the first child of the late Pa Nwaka, said it was worthy to celebrate a life that was lived out in helping others and commended the show of love for him and his siblings since the demise of their father on Saturday 2nd March 2019.
Mr Nwaka recalled the life and times of his late father, maintaining that the much he was privileged to know, his father was kind hearted to all that came in close contact with him.
He said although his father did not embrace Christianity early during his life time, he had always coordinated his life in such manners pleasing to the glory of God.
In their brief remarks, Comrade Nkem Nwaeke and Dr Azuka Ubani of the Igbodo Development Union, paid glowing tributes to the patriarch of the Nwaka’s family of Ndobu, Igbodo, stressing that he lived a fulfilled life and his wise counsels will be greatly missed.
They commended Mr Emeka Nwaka for his commitment for a peaceful and developed Igbodo community as being championed by the Deacon Matthew Okwaje’s led Central Executive Committee, CEC of Igbodo Development Union, IDU Worldwide and commiserated with him and his family over the death of their father and grandfather.
Miss Ijeoma Nwaka while thanking the Pastor and members of the Trinity Assembly of God and others for the honour done the family, expressed joy that testimonies about her late grandfather show that he lived a fulfilled life and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.
Guests at the event which lasted for over four hours, were well entertained with Nigerian music.
