Otobrise Wins APC House of Assembly Parallel Primaries for Ethiope East Constituency
As the race to the Delta State House of Assembly draws closer, Engr. John Omamuyovwi Otobrise of the Cyril Ogodo led factional APC in Delta State on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Ethiope East Local Government party Secretariat in Isiokolo, clinched the ticket for State House of Assembly, Ethiope East constituency.
The primary election which was peaceful had a total number of 328 accredited delegates from the eleven wards in the local government.
A total of 306 valid votes were counted with two void votes count. At the end of the exercise Engr. John Omamuyovwin Otobrise garnered a total of 227 votes to beat his closest rival Hon. Edafe Omovosa who got 73 votes while Hon. Godstime Oshebruku had 6 votes.
Addressing party faithful and supporters immediately after the primaries in Isiokolo, Engr. Otobrise thanked the God for the victory.I give all the glory to God for making my aspiration a reality, am so excited; he said”.
He also thanked the party executive in the local government and party faithful for giving him an opportunity to represent them.
Commenting on the peaceful conduct and orderliness of party faithful and delegates, Engr. Otobrise disclosed that it was for the love of the party, commending the delegates for standing by the legitimate faction of the APC.
He added that: “I saw the victory coming because I know I am a man of the people, loved by the people and grassroot to the core. I am loved in all the wards beginning from Ward 1-11, he stressed”.
Furthermore, Engr. John Omamuyovwi Otobrise promised the people of Ethiope East of standard infrastructural development and all involving representation that will attract dividends of democracy to the area if he wins the general election.
On the factional issues I’m the party, Engr. Otobrise assured APC members in Ethiope East that in no distant time, a verdict will be given at the court and assured of the Chief Cyril Ogodo led excos’ of victory.
The Returning Officer for the primary Election, Comrade Monday Oyeghe who also expressed gratitude over the peaceful conduct of delegates, announced that Engr. Otobrise scored 227 votes out of the 306 votes cast in the primary election.
