Osanebi Calls For More Investment In Tourism Industry
As Delta State joins the rest of the World to mark World Tourism Day 2019, stakeholders in the state tourism industry have been charged to redouble efforts towards the development of the sector in the state.
The Chairman, Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Art, Culture and Tourism, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi gave the charge in a statement in Asaba to commemorate the celebration.
Rt. Hon. Osanebi who represents Ndokwa East Constituency in the house, said Tourism is one sector which potentials have not be fully harnessed in the state.
Describing the sector as a major source of revenue for government, the Lawmaker stressed that there must be renewed commitment to grow the industry in the state.
Osanebi while praising the efforts of the Okowa’s led administration at advancing ideals that will promote the tourism in the state, urged other stakeholders to invest in the industry.
He said his Committee will collaborate with the state ministry of Culture and Tourism to seek how best to attract investment to the sector.
Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi called for sustained peace and security as both were critical to the development of the sector in the state.
The Lawmaker congratulated the government and people of Delta State for this year celebration, stressing that he look forward to seeing positive actions in the state tourism sector.
