One Year Anniversary: Oborevwori On Right Path of History – Ofobrukueta
Following Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s campaign promises to grow the infrastructure base and other sectors of the economy of Delta State, the immediate past Chairman of Ethiope East local government area of Delta state, Hon. (Pharm) Victor Ofobrukueta, has said Governor Oborevwori is on the right path of history.
Ofobrukueta, who spoke with newsmen on Governor Oborevwori’s one year in office, pointed out that with the way track record of the governor within the past one year, there is no gainsaying the fact that he came prepared and ready for governance and to deliver dividends of democracy to Deltans
Speaking further, Ofobrukueta said, “When Governor Oborevwori assumed office, he showed a clear vision that is in line with his More Agenda by building on the legacy of past governors and also charting his own path in order to show his commitment to the development of the state.
“Some of the achievements of the governor includes the construction of mega bridges by Julius Berger in the twin-cities Warri and Effurun as well construction of roads, execution of vital projects across Delta, N40 billion pensions for local government retirees.
Others are the recruitment of about 2,000 local government personnel, payment of bursary to over 30,000 students in tertiary institutions, payment of N5 billion promotion arrears to civil servants among and asundry initiatives.
“His administration has also completed a lot of projects across the three senatorial districts of the state, that are ready for commissioning to mark his first year anniversary in office and that is commendable.
“Some of them l could mentioned are; the Edo Road in Ughelli; Emevor-Orogun Road in Isoko North, the bridge across the Obo River at Ogwashi-Uku in sector C 1 of the Ughelli-Asaba Road dualisation, the 5.3km Okpanam-Ibusa by-pass road in Oshimili North local government area of the state.
“You will also agree with me that with the presence Julius Berger, Levant and CCECC construction companies, it is becoming glaring that Oborevwori’s administration is prepared to change the face of Delta state, as he is looking at other projects he is embarking shows his readiness to develope and to transform the state.
“I want to commend the governor to continue the good work he has started, so that even after eight years of his tenure, he will enjoy the kind of respect that Ogbemudia of blessed memory enjoys in old Bendel state because of his good will, which tomorrow will speak for him.
“l have explicit confidence in Oborevwori’s administration because the path he has chosen to ensure Deltans are carried along in the More Agenda where Delta state will be peaceful to articulate more ideas to grow the state and enhance the infrastructural development of the entire state is unquantifiable.”
