Okowa’s Good Works Gave Him Victory Before The Election – Hon Yingi
The Member Representing Burutu One Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Daniel Yingi has said that the landslide victories for PDP candidates in Burutu local government area during the just concluded general elections was further affirmation of the stronghold of the party in the council area.
Hon Yingi who spoke to newsmen in Asaba, said Burutu local government area is a traditional territory of PDP, nothing that there is no space for opposition parties, hence their candidates were rejected at the polls.
The Lawmaker explained that the marvelous performance of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in his first tenure made campaign for his reelection easy for his disciples.
He noted that but for some unavoidable challenges, the 49,722 votes for Okowa in the Governorship election in Burutu local government area could have been more as his good works gave him victory before the election.
Hon Yingi who is the Chairman, House Committee on Environment, Oil and Gas and Chairman, Committee on Protocol, Delta State PDP Campaign Council, commended the people of Burutu and indeed Ijaw nation for their faith in PDP.
On behalf of his constituents, the Lawmaker congratulated Dr Okowa and all the PDP candidates for their victories assuring the people of better days ahead, even as he charged them to remain supportive to the PDP led administration in the state.
The Lawmaker who described governor Okowa as one who keeps his promises, prayed God to continue to grant him the wisdom of Solomon in piloting the affairs of the state.
Hon Yingi advised against unnecessary litigations as in the past, stressing that such exercise and all negative narratives that goes with it were serious distraction to governance.
He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, security agencies and others involved in the conduct of the elections for their commitment towards free, fair and credible elections.
Hon Yingi expressed gratitude to the various religious leaders in the constituency for their prayers for peace, unity and progress in the state.
