Okowa’s Aide, Oghenesivbe Raps Cairo Ojougboh, Says He Lacks Moral Potency
Delta State government under the leadership of His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa will continue to deliver on its promises, economic depression and stagnated economy notwithstanding.
Executive Assistant on Communications to the Governor, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe in a statement made available to newsmen; urged the good people of Delta State to disregard the unsubstantiated spurious allegations made by former Deputy National Chairman of the illegal and proscribed Modu Sheriff faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Cairo Ojougboh.
“Deltans and Nigerians are aware of the present sorry-state of Ojougboh’s political predicament which necessitated his defection from our great party, the PDP to the ‘Operation Python Dance’ party, the APC.
“Ojougboh suffered acute trauma and brutalized political ego which requires all manner of re-packaging. He is doing anything, everything possible and impossible to redeem his public image.
“In the light of the above unfortunate circumstances which Ojougboh found himself, it is expected that he shall continue to deploy series of face-saving strategies, part of which was the recent verbal diarrhoea wherein he accused this administration of unsubstantiated spurious allegations.
“Deltans are aware of the remarkable achievements of Okowa administration within two years in all sectors of the state economy. This administration has opened up the state economy, partnering with local and international investors to boost power generation, create jobs and sustainable wealth for our teeming youths and citizens in general under the Youth Agriculture and Skills Training Entrepreneurship Programmes (YAGEP and STEP).
“Okowa’s enviable track records in the area of infrastructure development is second to none with 55 roads constructed and or rehabilitated while additional 44 roads are near completion across the three Senatorial districts.
“Six Technical Colleges across the state received special attention which has been commended by Deltans and organised private sector, et al.
“Three of the Tecnical Colleges have been fully rehabilitated and equipped while three others are near completion stages; a deliberate education policy of the Okowa administration to deepen skills and professionalism in human capital development through technical and vocational training across the state.
“Delta State Health Contributory Scheme which was recently launched in the state received tremendous accolade from well-meaning stakeholders, high profile health organisations and premier University in Nigeria; the University of Ibadan, which partly accounted for the award of highly prestigious ALUMNI OF THE YEAR on Gov Okowa at the just concluded Alumni Annual Lecture of the institution.
“Delta State sports contingent came third at the just concluded national sports competition, a clear indication that this administration is well positioned, focused and goals-oriented as captured in the SMART AGENDA.
“As at the last count, the YAGEP and STEP programmes generated 48,000 jobs directly and indirectly thereby placing Delta State far ahead of her contemporaries in the country,” Oghenesivbe said.
He urged Deltans to be weary of what he called “sugar-coated political orators” striking deals with money-bags to unscrupulously hoodwink our people to a “blink and hazy future” where there is no guarantee of prosperity and socioeconomic advancement; as can be seen from the APC stagnated economy and massive human rights violations, reckless torture, maiming and senseless killings across the country.
“Ojougboh recently found a new political godfather in the person of Olorogun Otega Emerhor of Mainstream APC DELTA faction, and it is expected that he had to reduce himself drastically to conform with his new debased and or low level political status.
“I wish to make it abundantly clear that Gov Okowa is far ahead of Ojuogbo in the realm of partisan politics. His defection to APC cannot and will never reduce the well anticipated landslide victory of the governor and PDP come 2019.
“Ojougboh, Emerhor, Ogboru, Ochei, Omo-Agege, Utomi and others were here in Delta when PDP and Senator Okowa swept the polls in 2015. Okowa shall again in 2019 dislodge APC Delta and her candidates with little or no efforts,” the statement added.
