Okowa: A New Dawn Beckons – Funkekeme

Senior Political Adviser, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon has congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Vice Presidential Candidate.

Okowa who was unveiled as the party’s VP by the Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Thursday, June 16, 2022, has received wide congratulations as his aide described the development as a ‘new dawn’.

Funkekeme Solomon in a statement sent to this medium, said, “It is with a sense of hope of fulfilment that the news of the nomination of His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as running mate to the presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, reached us.

“The choice is the product of a rigorous process that has been the hallmark of PDP. Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa has accomplished a lot in Delta State. He is a symbol of peace, fairness, development and rule of law.

“These are the legacies he is bequeathing in Delta State. We are glad that he is in a position to reenact these and more at the national level.

“Okowa will strengthen Atiku Abubakar’s candidacy and greatly improve his chances of clinching the presidency in 2023. Ultimately, Nigeria is the winner and beneficiary of the Atiku-Okowa visionary tag team that holds a lot of promise for Nigeria. With the choice of Okowa, PDP is primed to kick out APC that has inflicted unquantifiable pain and afflictions on Nigerians out of Aso Rock.
