Odoziani Support Group, The New Force In Delta Politics – Ajede

By Miracle Enuji

A Pan Ndokwa Nation group and Political movement in Delta State, Odoziani Support Group has been described as the new force in Delta politics following its resolute support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and massive mobilization of voters in the last general elections.

The group founded in 2016 by Sir Monday John Onyeme, Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR) and current District Governor, Lions Club District 404A1, boasts of over 50, 000 members in Ndokwa Nation and across Delta State.

Appraising the activities of the group prior and during the 2019 elections, Mr. Possible Solomon Ajede-Akpotohwo Esq., Facilitator, Odoziani Support Group for Ukwuani Local Government Area, applauded the visionary leadership of Sir Monday Onyeme in courting the formidable group which is now a movement largely reckoned with in the Delta State, as clearly seen in its contribution towards the success of the reelection of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and of all PDP candidates in Ndokwa Nation.

Barr Ajede revealed that the cult followership of Odoziani Support Group is rooted in the philanthropic lifestyle of Sir Onyeme who has left his imprimatur in the sands of time with his quest to bringing development to Ndokwa Nation, unrelenting assistance to Ndokwa Sons and Daughters and demonstration of love for the down trodden in Anioma and Delta State.

He stated that the group which was formed years before the 2019 elections, was driven by the vision of Sir Onyeme in reaching out to the less privileged in the society but threw its massive support for Governor Okowa’s reelection and PDP victory at large, having seen the giant strides of Governor Okowa in job creations, massive road constructions, urban renewal projects, revamping of the education and health sectors and other purposeful development drives across the length and breadth of the State.

The legal practitioner recalled that the group which has overwhelming support base in Ika, Warri, Sapele, Ogwashi Uku and Asaba, was visible at the different campaign rallies and passionately engaged in ramping up voters awareness especially in the Three (3) local government areas in Ndokwa Nation towards the 2019 polls. “In the past election, for the PDP candidates; from the Presidential candidate down to the House of Assembly candidates, we mobilized massively starting from the point when the Voters were been registered. We set up a committee to go round the whole wards and round the different chapters across Delta State where we have our members. We sensitized not only the members of our group but also reached out to every other person. By the time we left that area of Voters education, we also moved to another stage, we started encouraging people, providing buses for them, provided food and other logistics to get them registered. In fact, we were going down from family to family, ward to ward to sensitize the people on the need to go and vote.”

Our existence is based on the vision of helping the down trodden, bringing development to Ndokwa and rescuing the people of Ndokwa Nations from the shackles of poverty which is in tandem with Governor Okowa’s prosperity agenda for all Deltans. Our next line of action will soon be made public.”
