Obey Government Directives On Covid-19, Hon Onwo Charges Constituents


The Member Representing Isoko South 2 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Chief) Ferguson Onwo has charged his constituents to obey government directives on the Coronavirus pandemic control measures in the state.

Addressing newsmen as part of his efforts to sensitize his people on the effects of the deadly disease, Hon Onwo urged all to avoid crowded places, maintain social distancing with one another, abide by necessary hygienes as well as adopt frequent use of hand sanitizer and wearing of nose masks and hand gloves.

The Lawmaker stated that government at various levels, including federal, state and local councils, had issued directives on Covid-19, aimed at checking the spread of the virus.

He acknowledged the concerted efforts of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa at ensuring a Delta State free of Coronavirus disease and emphasized the need for Deltans to evolve themselves in acts that encourage good healthy behaviors.

Hon Onwo who is the Chairman, House Committee on Housing and Women Affairs, also advised against unnecessary travels, particularly inter states journeys, stressing that presently the only known cure of the disease is to stay indoors.

The Isoko South 2 legislator said Covid-19 pandemic is a plague that is ravaging the world, saying that even though there is no reported case of the virus in Delta State, the mere fact that it is already in Nigeria was a great cause of worry.

Hon Onwo reemphasized his appeal to the people of Isoko South 2 to obey the international minimum standards on measures to check the spread of the virus.

The Lawmaker said the shutdowns and isolation centers were all measures being canvassed by various government towards addressing the spread of the virus and commended the efforts made so far in that regards by state government.

He expressed optimism that the world will soon come out from the worrisome situation for people to return to their normal lives.
