NYSC: Okowa implores Corps Members to Key into Entrepreneurship programmes

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has advised corps members posted to the state to key into the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development programme of the NYSC.

The governor who was represented by Hon. Ovie Agas, the Secretary to the state government made the call during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the Batch A stream One 2017 corps members deployed to Delta state.

According to him, NYSC remains relevant in our country today as it was when it was established forty- four years ago. He added that the scheme have shown depth by continuing to evolve pragmatic policies and programmes that help to sustain the relevance of the scheme and meet with the challenges in our political and socio- economic live.

He explained that the orientation course was packaged to strengthen and equip them both physically and mentally to face the challenges of service year. The SMART agenda policy of the state government is to engage them in skills acquisition and youths empowerment programmes.

Meanwhile, the state coordinator of the NYSC Mr. Omotade Ayodele Benjamin expressed his gratitude to the governor of Delta state for making the three weeks orientation course of Batch A stream one of 2017 corps members a befitting one.

The state coordinator emphasized most especially for the quick intervention of the State Ministry of Water Resources over the collapse water tank in the NYSC camp.
