Nigerian Army Rescues Four Kidnap Victims in Delta


In a bold operation, troops of the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army successfully rescued four kidnap victims from a kidnappers’ hideout in Ugbolu Forest, a few kilometres from Asaba, the capital of Delta State.

In a press release signed by the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Emmanuel Onoja, the operation, carried out on Monday, December 9, 2024, followed credible intelligence reports and culminated in a fierce gun battle between the troops and the kidnappers.

The victims, who had been held captive for several days, were safely recovered after the swift and coordinated response of the Nigerian Army foiled the criminals’ plans.

According to reports, the kidnappers had demanded huge ransoms for the release of the victims. The intervention by the 63 Brigade prevented the payment of these ransoms and brought relief to the victims and their families.

After the rescue, the victims received the necessary medical attention and support before being reunited with their loved ones.

“The Nigerian Army continues to urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies promptly. The 63 Brigade remains committed to eliminating all forms of criminality in Delta State and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.” the statement added.
