NigeriaDecides2019: Atiku Abubakar Wins Delta State With 594,608 Votes
Collation of the last Saturday’s Presidential election results across the 25 local government areas of Delta State by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has been concluded at the Commission’s headquarters in Asaba.
The exercise which went peacefully, saw the PDP candidate for the election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar coasting home with victory in the state, winning 23 out of the 25 local government areas in the state.
The overall scores for the Presidential election in Delta State was announced by the Collation Officer for the election in the State, Prof Seth Accra Jaja. He declared that the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar scored 594,608, while APC Muhammadu Buhari got a total vote cast of 221,292.
Prof Jaja said registered voters in the state were 2,719,313, while accredited voters for the election was 891,647.
The State Collation Officer who is the Vice Chancellor, Niger Delta University, Otueke in Bayelsa State commended the peaceful nature of the collation exercise. He also commended the security agencies for their support and cooperation.
In Ughelli North, the Returning Officer, Dr. Daniel Orunwese announced that the PDP scored 16,140, while APC got 24,193 votes.
For Sapele local government area the Returning Officer Dr. Ben Akogbu said PDP won with 13,642 to beat APC to the second position with 9,776 votes.
In Ndokwa west, the Returning Officer for the election, Dr Monday Nwabudike announced that the PDP candidate scored 20,498 votes, while APC candidates got 3,579 votes.
PDP candidate also came on top in Bomadi local government area with 62,297 votes, while APC candidate scored 1,742 votes.
In Ndokwa East, the Returning Officer for the election stated that the PDP won with 20,976 to beat the APC candidate who got 3,312 votes.
PDP won in Warri North local government with 25,394 votes, while APC got 12,744 votes.
In Ika South Local government area, the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar polled 20, 080 while President Muhammadu Buhari according to the returning officer, Dr Louis Chiejihe, polled 6,378.
The PDP scored 29,331 votes in Ika North East local government area, while APC had 5,265 votes.
In Patani Local government area, PDPÂ won with 17,028 against APC’s 4,789.
PDP led with 12,996Â in Aniocha North Local Government area, while APC candidate got 3,674.
Similarly, the PDP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar polled 19,700 votes and President Muhammadu Buhari had 1,960 votes in Oshimili North Local Government area.
In Isoko North PDP scored 19,515 to beat APC candidate who got 7,045 votes as announced by the Returning Officer, Dr Lawrence Osagede.
The Returning Officer for Okpe local government area, Dr Samadi Labi, while reading out the scores from the council area, said APC got 7,769 votes and PDP, 11,167 votes.
In Warri South West local government area, APC scored 43,214 votes, while PDP got 81,833 votes.
For Burutu local government area, the Returning Officer for the election, Dr Chiweuba Okafor announced that the APC scored 5,546 votes and PDP got 38,543 votes.
The Returning Officer for Isoko South local government area, Prof Josephine Mokwunye said APC scored 10,536, while PDP got 1,9407 votes.
In Warri south APC scored 10,007 PDP 22,086. The result was declared by the local government area’s returning officer for the election, Professor Solomon Omonigho.
From the declared across the 25 local government areas of the state APC Mohammed Buhari won in Ughelli North and Ethiope East, while PDP Atiku Abubakar was victorious in Ukwuani, Udu, Uvwie, Ika South, Ethiope West, Ika North East, Ughelli South, Ndokwa West, Warri North, Aniocha South, Bomadi, Aniocha North, Patani, Oshimili North, Sapele, Oshimili South and Ndokwa East, Isoko South, Burutu, Warri South West, Okpe, Warri South and Isoko North local government areas.
