Nigeria @58: Oborevwori Urges Nigerians To Pray For Unity
The Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has felicitated with Nigerians on the 58th Independence Anniversary of the Nation, with a call on them to pray for the unity of the country and leaders.
In a statement in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Dennis Otu, the Speaker stressed on the unity of the Country, adding that at 58, the Country has made remarkable achievements in the face of daunting challenges.
According to the Statement; “I want to Congratulate fellow Nigerians on the 58th Independence Anniversary of our country. As we celebrate another anniversary of nationhood, let us continue to pray for the unity of the Country and our leaders at all levels. We need divine intervention in the affairs of our country”.
“Let us remain united as a people. We have faired very well as a Nation and people since the attainment of Independence 58 years ago and therefore, let us shun those things capable of tearing us apart. Nigerians are great people and they should be protected wherever they are”, the Speaker said.
According to him also; “My fellow Nigerians, as we mark the 58th Independence Anniversary of our country, we must collectively do those things that will move our country forward so as to get to the Promised Land. Let us do away with violence and those things inimical to our progress. Peace is what we need and not crisis”.
“As we are approaching another election year, every campaign of hate must stop, our country must be allowed to know peace and move forward to be the envy of others as envisaged by our founding fathers. All divisive tendencies should be done away with in our nation. We should allow peace and unity to reign in the land. God bless our beloved Country”, he stated.
