Ned Nwoko Anioma Unity Cup 2018 to Kick Off in May

The uniting power of sports is set to be put on display as Delta North choice for the Red Chambers in the 2019 general election, Prince Ned Nwoko has rolled out plans for the 2018 Anioma Unity Cup Tournament.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Football Tournament, Mr Friday Omesiete, who disclosed that the football tournament will hold between May-June 2018 within the 9 local government areas in Delta North contesting for the Cup prize of One million Naira.

Mr. Omesiete informed that, after a general meeting with Anioma Senatorial District Coaches Association, it was agreed that the football tournament will kick off in May with qualifying matches for each local government area to produce two teams each, that will finally compete for the tournament.

While conveying the message of Prince Ned Nwoko on the Football tournament, Omesiete said, “Our Anioma Pride, Prince Ned Nwoko in his usual benevolent way of encouraging and developing the talents of youths in Delta North, has approved the plans for this year’s football tournament. Hon. Nwoko has pledged to personally sustain the funding of this tournament yearly and has also invited Nigerian Professional League Coaches to scout for talents during this tournament which is in abundance in Anioma land.”

Continuing, the Chairman hinted that, “the beauty of this football tournament is that, the kits for all participating teams will be provided by Prince Nwoko and professional referees from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will also be invited to officiate throughout the game.”

Meanwhile, an enlarged Sports Festival is set to hold in the later part of this year at Idumeje-Ugboko, where local and international sportsmen and women will be competing for various prizes at different games.

This Sports Festival is billed to have over 9 games which will all take place at the tourist and resort residence of Prince Ned Nwoko.

Furthermore, plans are on top gear for the commencement of the 2018/2019 academics session of the Sports University, Idumuje Ugboko as Nigeria University Commission (NUC) has given official approval for the take off of the first private Sports University in the country initiated by Star Prince of Anioma land, Hon Prince Ned Nwoko.
