National Youth Games 2024: Asaba Prepares to Host Nigeria’s Future Stars
The 8th edition of Nigeria’s prestigious National Youth Games is slated to take place in Asaba, the vibrant capital of Delta State, from September 10th to 20th, 2024, according to BSNSports.
In a recent meeting, officials from the Ministry of Sports and the Delta State Sports Commission (DSSC) convened in Asaba to finalize arrangements for the highly anticipated event.
The stakeholders in attendance expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Minister of Sports Senator John Enoh for their unwavering dedication and significant contributions to the development of Nigeria’s youth.
The meeting delved into various aspects of the Games, ultimately approving the September 10th to 20th, 2024 date, which has been carefully selected to avoid conflicts with the academic calendar of Delta State schools and the upcoming Olympics and Para-Olympics Games.
Notably, the organizers of the National Youth Games will be utilizing selected school hostels to accommodate the over 5,000 athletes participating in the Games.
The iconic Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, which is currently undergoing preparations, will serve as the main venue for the event.
As the reigning champion of the National Youth Games, Delta State is poised to defend its title in style.”
