Mulade Urges Govt Appointees To Be Truthful To Okowa, Says No Motorable Roads In Delta State
A Gbaramatu Kingdom born human right and environmental activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has again re-assured the governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa of total mobilisation of Deltan’s to ensure a landslide victory for him and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the general 2019 elections.
Mulade made the declaration in Abuja, while speaking with journalist. Mulade also urged government appointees in governor Okowa’s cabinet to furnish the governor with truthful and timely information regarding the state of deplorable roads in major cites such as Asaba, Warri, Ughelli, Sapele, Abraka, Agbor and other local government areas in Delta State.
He noted that a tour around major cites within the Delta has proved contrary to several political media reports claiming that several millions of Naira have been spent on road construction and rehabilitation that made the popular slogan Ekwueme the road master Governor.
It is important to state and inform Governor Ifeanyi Okowa that they is no motorable roads in Delta cities and many of the riverine communities are deliberately deprived of development in spite of their huge contribution.
The State government should do something about the bad condition of roads within major junctions of cities in the state, these will encourage free flow of commercial activities, mobility and transportation before clamouring for the return of companies that left the State.
He further adds that mind bugling number of political appointees numbering over 3, 203 with over N400 million as salary should not be for praise singing and eye service, but Deltans are expecting the socio-economic and developmental benefits of retaining multitude of consumers who are egregiously gloated in copious consumption of the state resources.
Drawing Okowa’s attention to some abandoned projects by Multinational companies in riverine communities who have left the State due to insecurity challenges and bad governance, Comrade Sheriff appeal to Governor Okowa to takeover and complete the projects for the benefits of the people, Mulade said “Though His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has done his best as regards road construction however, government appointees should not go scrambling for contracts or fronting a company rather they should complement the governors efforts and ensure that contractor who abandon project after mobilisation are prosecuted and blacklisted”.
“We will give the Governor Okowa’s administration credit if he insist that the right thing is done to correct some obvious administrative imbalance. Incompetent contractor, should not handle major projects in Delta State no matter their power of public relations or connections”.
