Mulade Tells NLC, Civil Servants To Vote Out Governors That Can’t Pay 30K Minimum Wage
Niger Delta human rights, peace advocate and environmentalist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has charged the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC to vote out governors that say they can not pay N30, 000 (thirty thousand naira) minimum wage as being agreed with the organized labour with federal government which will soon be transmitted to National Assembly to be passed as an act.
Comrade Mulade, while addressing Journalists in Abuja wondered why state governors will engage thousands of aides receiving 10 to 20 times of the new minimum wage without doing anything, no schedule, adding that every month those governors aides get alert as first line charge even before workers despite being as ghost workers which is never allowed by labour world wide.
He called on the organized labour to sign concrete agreement with those governors promising to pay the N30, 000 minimum wage in order to keep those governors on their feet so that it doesn’t become mere saying.
The renowned environmentalist advised Nigerian workers to use their vote wisely and make sure they decide their future to a logical conclusion this time around.
The Niger Delta human rights advocate challenges the organized labour to press on with their demand, noting that some of the governors who can’t pay the new minimum wage are “wicked and doesn’t want workers to see light of the day”, he as well urged organized labour to be weary of any governor that cannot take workers welfare as their priority.
It is worthy of note that this are the same governors and political office holders most of the workers aid and covered up in corruption but refuse to pay just N30, 000 only as your minimum wage but can wast our resources on political gathering, godfathers, family and associates.
