Mariere Calls for Better Care of Children in Ughelli North One Constituency
In line with the Children’s Day Celebration, the Wife of the Member Representing Ughelli North One Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Mrs Joy Mariere has stressed the need for parents to be more committed to the proper up bringing of their wards.
Mrs Mariere who made the call at a get together organized for children in the constituency to celebrate the children day with them, said many parents have abandoned their noble roles in the lives of their children and called for a change.
The Wife of the Lawmaker, noted that the younger ones must be properly guided for the society to enjoy peace and stability as well as to achieve a focused and result- oriented future generation.
Mrs Mariere said celebrating with the children, including orphans in the orphanages in the locality was soul-lifting and expressed gratitude to God for her life, that of the family and for providing her the resources to keep on with the annual event which started over the years.
She stated that prizes and other gift items for the children, particularly winners of the various competitions, including bible quiz, dance, riddles and jokes and spelling bees, were to motivate, encourage and build confidence on the children as the face the larger society.
The Member Representing Ughelli North One Constituency, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Samuel Mariere in a goodwill message said conscious and concerted efforts must be made at all times in building love and understanding among the children for a better and more united nation.
Hon Mariere assured the people of Ughelli North One Constituency of sustained quality representation.
The Wife of the Chairman, Ughelli North Local Government Council, Mrs Evelyn Godwin Adode and others who spoke commended Mrs Joy Mariere for the annual get together for the children in the constituency, stressing that many of them now look forward to the epoch making ceremony.
In a brief exhortation and words of admonition, Rev Lucky Okreghe of the Sapele Diocese of the Anglican Communion, charged privileged individuals in society to care for the less privileged ones and commended the various scholarship program of Hon Samuel Mariere for the children of his constituency.
Speaking on the message he entitled “Man Destiny is in the Hands of God”, Rev Okreghe asserted that God will continue to raise up children for a better society, despite the challenges.

Highpoint of the event was the cutting of cake to mark the 2018 Children day celebration and the presentation of scholarship to six children; three from orphanage and three from Ughelli North One constituency for Winning various competitions during the ceremony.
