Kanye West Appeals to Donald Trump to Pardon Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Kanye West has taken to social media to publicly defend Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing trial on multiple sex trafficking and abuse charges.
West, a 24-time Grammy winner, is calling on President Donald Trump to intervene and pardon Combs before his May 5 trial.
On Thursday, West tweeted, “FREE PUFF,” and later added, “@realDonaldTrump PLEASE FREE MY BROTHER PUFF.” He also criticized fellow celebrities for their silence, stating, “WATCH OUR BROTHER ROT AND NEVER SAY S—.” West referenced Chris Brown, saying, “WE ALL WATCHED TAKE CHRIS BROWN AND AINT NOBODY DO NOTHING I WAS P— THEN TOO CHRIS BROWN ITS TO THE WHEELS FALL OFF”.
Combs, 55, was arrested by NYPD on September 16 and remains jailed after being denied bail three times.
He faces charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution, which could result in a life sentence if convicted.
Combs is also battling numerous sexual assault lawsuits, including one with Jay-Z as a co-defendant, with several accusers being minors, including a 10-year-old boy.
West’s appeal to Trump comes after the President’s sweeping pardon of nearly 1,500 January 6th defendants.
