IHRC honours Rita Daniels as Knight of Rasta Fari Emperor Haile Selassie

The International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) has honoured Hon. Dr. Rita Daniels Chukwuji as one of the Black Africa Knights of Rasta Fari Emperor Haile Selassie.
The investiture ceremony took place on 20th May, 2023 at Orchid Hotel, Asaba, Delta State.
Rita Daniels, mother of popular Regina Daniels, became a special representative envoy to the African Union; awarded by the IHRC Africa Region Headquarters, two years ago.
Investing the honour, most supreme eminence, Dr. Sir Valentine Akpati said, Rita Daniels is honoured in recognition of her activities that do greatly underscores the significance of the provisions in the IHRC charter.
Akpati added that her outstanding commitment on non-discrimination and equality throughout her nollywood career, including, most recently, her staunch efforts securing organisations to push for various religions to evolve a peace and cooperation treaty.
He maintained that, she has worked courageously with the Africa Indigenous Committee of the IHRC to preach peaceful coexistence, peace practicing and peace living between faiths and the ways and means to combat the proliferation of arms and nuclear weapons.
Also at the ceremony, Dr. Sir Tivlumun Innocent Ahure from Kenya appreciated Dame Rita Daniels interest in pursuing the priorities and agenda of the committee on Africa Indigenous Religions.
He said that, the IHRC has decided to appoint her as the special representative envoy to the African Union on Community Development Service to conduct matters relating to Africa Renaissance and serve as the Chief Diplomat of the Black Africa Knights of the Order of Rasta Fari Emperor Haile Selassie.
Ahure noted that, Dame Rita Daniels has also been a strong supporter of the IHRC, including through her engagement in the Native Nations Inter-governmental Alliance, which strives to counter voices of hatred with voices of moderation.
Responding, Dame Daniels said “I have been knighted and accorded the right to affix the tittle of Dame to my name. It’s not just a great achievement, this for me, is a call to focus on the dreams and visions of the United Nations Inter-faith and Harmony, and in earnest, plan and establish an award for Inter-faith Unity for Peace Revival and Reconciliation in Africa”.
She thanked Dr. Sir Valentine, senate of the Order of the Black Africa Knights of Rasta Fari Emperor Haile Selassie and the IHRC Africa Indigenous Religions Committee especially the special members against Religious Discrimination who are champions of Inter-faith dialogue.
