Igbo Entrepreneurs To Hold Conference In Awka December 4
… Makes Omu Anioma Royal Mother Of The Day
By Patrick Ochei
The maiden Igbo Entrepreneurship Conference is billed to hold on Friday 4th December, 2020, in Awka, Anambra State, to discuss issues bordering on Igbo indigenous culture and way forward in business enterprise with the home in mind.
The conference which is expected to gather over 1000 Igbo entrepreneurs from different areas of business, will feature the renowned Nneoha and Omu Anioma, Her Royal Majesty Obi Martha Dunkwu as the Royal Mother of the Day.
The programme which is codenamed “Iru Afia Bu Iru Olu” will focus on Ndi Igbo, taking ownership of their market network, capacity through backward integration strategy, founded on a formalised indigenous entrepreneurship education.
The focus of the conference is based on the overtime criticisms of the Igbo businessmen and women who would rather build business empires in other tribes of the country instead of their place of origin, to begin to have a rethink, especially now that Nigeria is tilting towards ethnic politics over and above national interest.
The occasion will be chaired by the Founder and President of Ala-Igbo Development Foundation, Prof. Uzodinma Nwala while the keynote address will be delivered by the President, South East Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (SECCIMA), Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi.
At the conference, Omu Anioma will re-echo her earlier stand of calling on the Igbos to build their business empires in the land of their birth rather than becoming business Kings in other people’s states and tribes with nothing to show in their own places.
Omu Dunkwu had consistently told Ndi Igbo to use their God given grace and prowess in commerce to galvanize a political voice, cultural voice and economic voice for their region in the interest of retaining a vantage position in Nigeria’s polity.
