Ibas Sworn in as Rivers State Administrator
President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Emmanuel Ibas as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State.
As previously reported, the president had earlier declared a state of emergency on Rivers State, suspending the Governor, Vice and all members of the House Of Assembly for six months.
This move comes amidst ongoing political tensions in the state. Ibas’ appointment tasks him with overseeing governance and maintaining stability in the region.
The decision has sparked mixed reactions from the public, with some viewing it as a necessary step to restore order, while others question the implications for democratic governance in the state.
Ibas, a seasoned administrator, has pledged to prioritize development and unity during his tenure.
Ibas received operational directives following the president’s recent declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
