Health Commissioner Rallies Support For Gov Okowa’s Reelection

A clarion call has gone to all Deltans to return Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor of Delta State based on the testimony of his good work visible for all to see.

The Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr Mordi Ononye, made the call today when he received the members of the Delta Mandate for Change, a political group which paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

The Commissioner said that Governor Okowa had turned the State into a construction site saying that his infrastructure achievements cut across the major cities in the State and the rural communities.

He enjoined all who had worked one way or the other during the election that brought in the present administration to return to the field and sing the song of the good things the Governor had done and was doing so that he could come back and complete the good things he had started for Deltans.

Dr Ononye said that they should all close ranks and form a formidable team of unity and work assiduously to return Governor Okowa back to Government House come 2019 gubernatorial election.

He commended the group for parading strong political stalwarts who he said had strong followership that could only be undermined at the peril of those who might want to do so.

The Commissioner promised to work with the group and would do all within his power to assist the group realized its goal which was the re-election of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for a second term as Governor of Delta State.

He advised them to speak against any form of evil activities that would want to threaten the peaceful coexistence of the various component ethnic groups that make up the State and also not to be involved in any activity that would threatened the peace being enjoyed in the State.

Earlier, the Coordinator of the group, Comrade Olisa Oba, congratulated Dr Mordi Ononye on his appointment as Commissioner for Health and member of the State Executive Council saying that it was an appointment well deserved.

Highlight of the event was the investiture of Dr Mordi Ononye as a patron of the Delta Mandate for Change.
