Guwor Celebrates Delta Deputy Speaker, Akpowowo on Birth Anniversary


Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor has felicitated the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Arthur Akpowowo on his birth anniversary.

The Speaker described Akpowowo as a unique ally, who he said had shown so much affection, loyalty and respect towards him in the last seven months as Deputy Speaker of the 8th Delta Assembly.

Guwor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, commended the celebrant for his dedication to duty and passion for peace, security, development and good governance in Delta State.

The Speaker said, “I recall the motion he brought under Matters of Urgent Public Importance few weeks after the Inauguration of the 8th Assembly, on security challenges facing his constituents in Abraka and environs.

“The resolution of the House on the motion helped to douse the threatening situation as relevant authorities were encouraged to increase efforts in dealing with the issue”.

While congratulating Akpowowo on the birth anniversary, Guwor prayed for greater grace upon the Deputy Speaker and for God to continue to prevail in all aspects of his life at making him a better and more prosperous being.

“I, on behalf of the Principal Officers and Honourable Members of the State Assembly, wish the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Arthur Akpowowo happy birthday and many happy returns.

“It has been very pleasant and fulfilling working with him as Deputy Speaker. He has shown me so much love and respect. He has proven his commitment to serve the state and the people of Ethiope East, where he represents.

“I wish him well in his new age and pray God to grant him peace, comfort, good health and more progress in his life endeavours”, Guwor stated.
