Governor-Elect: Delta Assembly Clerk, Ocholor Felicitates with Speaker Oborevwori
Clerk of the Delta State House of Assembly, Barr. (Mrs) Lyna Ocholor has felicitated with the Speaker, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori for the victory at the Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state.
Mrs Ocholor in a statement on behalf of herself and the entire workforce in the State Legislature, thanked Deltans for electing the Speaker as the next Governor of the state.
She described the Governor-elect Sheriff Oborevwori as hardworking and a very sound administrator, stressing that his leadership of the sixth and seventh Delta State Assembly has brought stability to the House.
The Clerk expressed gratitude to staff of the State Assembly for standing with the Speaker all through the campaigns, pointing out that the victory was a victory for the legislature.
“Our Speaker, now Governor elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is a good man. His goodness will continue to pave ways for him. He is the longest serving Speaker of the Delta State Assembly. He is the first sitting Speaker that contested party primaries and won with landslide. He is now the first sitting Speaker that emerged Governor of Delta State. Grace of God is upon him and shall remain so as he steps into the mantle of higher responsibility.
“The management and staff of the Delta State Assembly are happy and would continue to encourage and support him to succeed. I can assure you that he will do well as Governor. The Speaker has the capacity, intelligent and integrity to perform. He has the interest of Deltans at heart. All he needs is support of the people”, Mrs Ocholor stated.
