Gbaramatu People Have Been Targets Of Buhari’s Military, We Will Vote Only Atiku – Spokesman

…Says Buhari’s Military Killed Tompolo’s Father, Seized Properties Belonging To The Ex-Militant Leader.

Following waves of last minute alignments with various candidates for Saturday’s election, the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom have denounced the purported endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari by the Kingdom for re-election.

Speaking to Journalists in Warri, Chief Godspower Gbenekama (JP), The Fiyewei (Official Spokesman of Gbaramatu Kingdom), denied the alleged plans by the  people of the Kingdom to support the re-election of President Buhari stating that the statement was from some elements of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kingdom.

He explained further that the true stand of the people of Gbaramatu is the solid support of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

While saying that those supporting the re-election of President Buhari in the Kingdom have the freedom to do so, Chief Godspower Gbenekama said that the unsuspecting public must not be misled into believing that the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom that have been harrassed, brutalised and intimidated by President Buhari’s military are in support of his re-election, adding that the people of the Kingdom cannot forget in a hurry some of the atrocities of President Buhari on the good people of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

His words; “The people of Gbaramatu Kingdom have been target of Buhari, so we are not going to vote for him. Those who are clamouring fo Buhari are elements of APC. Many groups in Gbaramatu Kingdom have endorsed Atiku.

“Buhari has been terrorising us in Gbaramatu Kingdom. We are not supporting or endorsing him. It is only APC elements that are clamouring fro his reelection. We in Gbaramatu Kingdom are fighting for restructuring and that is what Atiku stands for of which Buhari is against.

“There is freedom of association and that is why some people in our Kingdom can say they are voting for him. Buhari has been killing our people. He killed Tompolo’s father,he siezed Tompolo’s property and he has been plotting to kill Tompolo but God has been on our side.

“Our people must vote wisely on Saturday and vote for those who are going to remove Niger Deltans from their pains and sufferings. Tompolo that has been Buhari’s target cannot endorse him for reelection.

“We stand with PANDEF on this 2019 election. Tompolo can never and will never endorse buhari who has been planing to kill him and also killed his father.”

The Spokesman further informed that Gbaramatu traditional council is calling on all sons and daughters of Gbaramatu kingdom who are eligible voters to start mobilising to their various communities to ensure that they cast their votes.

“I also appeal to the military to ensure that they reduce their high handedness in dealing with the Gbaramatu people as we want peace in our area to be able to perform our franchise. Gbaramatu is peaceful as such should be treated as a peaceful and peace loving people.” Chief Gbenekama appealed.
