Funkekeme Defies APC, Says Party Non-Existent in Delta State
By Miracle Enuji
The immediate past Commissioner for Works and Chairman, Governing Council of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, Rt. Hon. Solomon Funkekeme has described the All Progressives Congress, APC as an unorganized, a disappointing venture and visionless political party.
The former Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly stated this during a media interaction with Journalists on Tuesday May 8, 2018 in Asaba, saying that, “APC is an assemblage of hurriedly packaged together persons”, submitting that the party does not exist in Delta state.
Rt. Hon. Funkekeme while defying the potentials of the APC as a political party, said that; “I am sure every right APC thinking person that is genuine must be embarrassed by the way the party is running in the country. The APC government looks like regional government. It is very simple, it is their own making. They said they have come for change but what we have is an embarrassment.
“Few days ago, the APC had ward congresses across the country. People died, secretariats torched; is that change? Change is holistic; change from Hooliganism, change from violence, change from sectionalism… So I believe that the APC needs to re-examine itself.”
Fukekeme further faulted the manifestos of APC which he said was full of deceit. “If you check APC manifestos; the promises made, non is fulfilled. You talk about 1$ to N1, it is insane to think about that because the international forces are beyond you. How would you compare N1 to 1$? Nigerians should have known that it is a deceit but we fell for it and we are all suffering.
“PDP in Delta State has settled zoning, that is what we have. Even now, I hear that APC has not even started talking about zoning. So I don’t know how they are going to do it. We do not know if they have any party here, that is the truth. I hear of personalities who I have respects for but I don’t know whether there is APC in the State.”
