Fubara, Family Exits Rivers State Government House
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has vacated the Government House in Port Harcourt, following President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in the state.
According to PUNCH, Fubara left the premises on Wednesday morning, accompanied by his family and security details, according to a close source.
Security at the Government House remains sparse, with only two Armoured Personnel Carriers and a handful of security operatives stationed outside. Despite the tense situation, normal activities continue uninterrupted in Port Harcourt and its environs.
Preparations are underway to receive Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (retd.), the Administrator appointed by President Tinubu to oversee the state for the next six months.
As of 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Ibas had yet to assume office, but about 15 soldiers were seen inside the Government House premises ahead of his expected arrival.
