Fregene Calls On Deltans To Take Okowa’s Reelection As Their Personal Project
The Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Mr Freeman Fregene has enjoined Deltans to take the reelection of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as personal project and give it the attention and support it deserves.
Addressing newsmen after a stakeholders meeting in Warri, Mr Fregene said he stands on the side of equity, justice and fair play, stressing that for a stronger and more prosperous Delta State, Delta North must be allowed to complete it second tenure in the governorship arrangement in the state.
“This issue of rotating the governorship slot among the three senatorial district of the state go beyond political parties. It is all about Delta State and its people. Even in Nigeria as a whole, the two major political parties, the PDP and APC choose their presidential candidates from the north because, all stakeholders believe it was the turn of the northern part of the country to complete their second term. Delta State in a miniature of Nigeria”.
“The arrangement has brought peace, unity, love and progress to the state. We must put aside, individual and ethic sentiments. Anybody against the rotation arrangement is an enemy of the state. Federal government should not come and cause problems for us in Delta State. We should not allow haters of the state to destroy the prevailing peace, unity and love that now exist amongst all the nationalities in Delta State”. Fregene advised.
The Commissioner commended Deltans for their determination for the reelection of Dr Okowa, urging them to remain film on the side of truth, equity, justice and fair play as well as development and governance of the state.
Mr Fregene urged eligible voters in the state to come out enmass on Saturday to vote for Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and PDP candidates for the State House of Assembly election, reminding all of the umbrella symbol for PDP.
He stated that the second tenure of Dr Okowa will witness greater development and advised all to shun the antics of distractors.
